Night at the Museum 2023
May 20, the traditional “Night at the Museum” campaign saw a number of events held at the Central Chess Club named after M.M. Botvinnik. It started by Dmitry Oleinikov, Candidate of Historical Science and Director of the Chess Museum, give a quiz for students of the Center of Intellectual Culture and Sports “Kaissa”, and then the guide Tatiana Kolesnikovich acquainted children with main exhibits of the Chess Museum. The most active quiz participants were gifted with books from the Chess Federation of Russia’s Library.
19:00 to 23:00 had two simuls conducted by famous grandmasters and coaches, Alexander Zlochevskij and Alexey Korotylev. The simuls with Alexander Zlochevsky and Alexey Korotylev were attended by 20 and 18 people respectively. Players with the best result were given books, and all participants received diplomas.
Running parallel to the simuls were museum tours. All in all, over 80 people visited the CFR Chess Museum, with experienced tour guides working for them that evening.
